Together with the automotive magazine ATZ Automobiltechnische Zeitschrift, Autoneum has published the special edition “Automotive Acoustics” focusing on electromobility. Acoustic specialists from the automotive industry – including experts from Autoneum – exclusively present findings in research and development about current challenges in acoustic management for electric vehicles. “Automotive Acoustics” is based on papers of the “Automotive Acoustics Conference” for which Autoneum has the scientific leadership.
As the market and technology leader for acoustic and thermal management in vehicles, Autoneum actively shapes the mobility of tomorrow with innovative lightweight components. Additionally, the Company uses its extensive research and development expertise for promoting knowledge transfer at the globally leading, biennial Automotive Acoustics Conference. In order to provide an overview on current trends and challenges in vehicle acoustics, Autoneum publishes the special issue “Automotive Acoustics” in conference-free years together with the automotive trade magazine ATZ, edited by Springer Vieweg.
Thematically, this year’s edition focuses on latest developments in acoustic management of electric vehicles. Particular attention is drawn to the NVH performance (noise, vibration, harshness). Electric vehicles require a substantial treatment of rolling and wind noise as well as of noise sources such as fans and electronic drive components. They are increasingly audible in the passenger cabin due to the absence of engine noise. High frequency sounds in particular have a noticeable effect on driving comfort at accelerated driving speeds.
The publication of “Automotive Acoustics” coincides with the “Call for Papers” for the Automotive Acoustics Conference 2019. Acoustic specialists from the automotive industry and science are invited to submit abstracts for this globally leading symposium on automotive acoustics until December 10, 2018. The next Automotive Acoustics Conference takes place on July 9 and 10, 2019 in Zurich/Ruschlikon.
